Indoor Skeet Shooting in Kennesaw, Georgia? PULL!

Skeet shooting is a rising American sport, tracing its roots back to Massachusetts where, in 1920, a group of fowl hunters developed a way to practice their shots. Clay plates are mechanically fired into the air at a variety of angles from two opposing locations. The result is remarkably similar to wingshooting, with multiple plates often being in the air at once, and sometime crossing. That makes the sport more challenging than trap shooting, the nearest relation, which may account for why it is currently rising in popularity.

Of course, Georgians who do not live in rural areas often find the opportunities for skeet shooting limited. This is, after all, an outdoor sport requiring a fairly large amount of space. However, those wishing to take up skeet shooting just north of Atlanta now have a new indoor range in which to do so. Thanks to the recently opened Kennesaw, Georgia location of the Governor’s Gun Club, Georgians in and around Cobb County can now enjoy a convenient indoor skeet range close to home!

Officially opened on May 10, 2018, the Governor’s Gun Club in Kennesaw is a premier facility stretching for 7.5 acres. It features a 35,000-foot skeet, trap, and 5-stand range, as well as pistol and rifle lanes, and an archery field. This is certainly not your typical gun range! Along with the sporting facilities, there’s a private humidor and wine storage, member lockers, a member’s only lounge with full service restaurant and bar, a gunsmith’s shop, and a patio overlooking the McCollum Airport runway. If you are interested in a premier shooting experience that has it all, the Governor’s Gun Club is the place to be! Nonetheless, despite the many attractions, the indoor skeet range is generating the most excitement.
