MARCH HUNTER TRIALS AT EQUESTRIAN PRESERVE

Saturdays in March (23rd & 30th) with slots from 10-3:30pm.
Riders can enter to run the course up to 2 times to achieve your best time!

A HUNTER TRIAL at Equestrian Preserve is a timed event to test partnership and skill between horse and rider and suited for riders of all abilities. Division 1 & 2 riders are timed and compete solo or on teams of 3 over a marked cross-country course with fences/obstacles. Each individual/team must attempt to come closest (plus or minus) to the ideal time for their division, which is set in advance. Division 3 is for schooling individually or in groups with trainers/coaches at a slower pace featuring optional lower level jumps (up to 2′). Fences are up to 2.6 and obstacles include a small ditch and a water crossing. Cash prizes awarded to Division 1 and Division 2 riders through 3rd place – based on entries – and ribbons to Division 3 riders through 3rd place. Times will be listed on the website and prizes/ribbons will be awarded April 1st.
- Division 1: Advanced – experienced riders running a fast to medium pace (mostly canter)
- Adult/Junior (19 and under)
- Individuals or Teams of 3
- Fences/Obstacles (coops, logs, tables, a small ditch and water crossing)
- Division 2: Intermediate – medium pace (trot/canter)
- Adult/Junior (19 and under)
- Individuals or Teams of 3

- Division 3: Training – a slow pace for schooling (walk/trot)
- Adult/Junior (19 and under)
- Individuals and Groups accompanied by Instructor/Coach
- Fences /Obstacles Optional (up to 2′)
- Gates open 10-4pm
- Timed trial slots available between 10-3:30pm
- Course walk prior to trial and use of conditioning course for warm up – arrive early
- Entrants must register and pay in advance online – no tickets available at the door
- All riders are required to wear an ASTM/SEI certified helmet and riding boots – vest encouraged if jumping
- Negative coggins required for each horse and submitted prior or at registration
- Waiver must be signed by each rider or parent if a minor and submitted prior or at registration
- Spectators are welcome to purchase a spectator ticket – select date(s)
- Bring your own food and beverages
- Restrooms on premises
- One additional Instructor/Coach or Guest per rider to assist
- Children 12 and under free
- NO dogs allowed
Entries:
- Riders = $50/per person per entry (up to 2 entries allowed)
- Spectators = $10/per person per date selected from drop-down menu
